Club Info

Feather Shuttles

We only use feathers shuttlecocks for both club play and match play. We have a strict policy on using 1 tube of 12 shuttles per hour.

Courts

Sunday sessions have 4 courts. Thursday sessions have 3 courts. Match events use 2 courts on Sundays.

Mixed and Level doubles

Club play and match play are in the doubles format. These include mixed doubles, men’s doubles and women’s doubles. We use the standard scoring system of 1 game to 21 points. We do not play singles.

Venue information

No refreshments at Holly Lodge (but a water machine is available).

Vending machines and water machine available in Anfield.

Showers available but close 15 mins prior to hall closure.

Indoor sports footwear only (badminton trainers recommended)

Peg board system

At KCF, we use the peg board system.

All players are given a peg with their name assigned to it (visitor pegs available). The pegs are placed on a board along a line to form a queue.

The first player at the front of the queue is able to choose a doubles game from the first 7 people of the queue. When there is an available court, the game can be played.

At the end of the game, both pairs remove their pegs and place them at the back of the queue, with the winning pair in front of the losing pair. These players will then wait until it is their turn to choose a game or to be chosen for a game.
